As with traditional internet, mobile broadband providers differ widely in the packages and terms they offer, so it's important to research this before you go ahead and commit yourself. If you're not sure whether this option will be right for you, it's wise to consider first taking out a pay-as-you-go deal so that you won't be tied into a lengthy contract if it doesn't work out. On the other hand, even if your provider doesn't offer a 'cooling off' period (usually around 2 weeks), the UK's distance selling regulations for online buying ensure you will always be able to return the product within 7 days if you're not satisfied. Be aware though that as with fixed-line or mobile phone contracts, if you sign up and want to cancel a month or more later, you could be liable to pay for the full term of the contract whether or not you use the product.
