With an increase in the number of CNG vehicles, Hydro Testing has become more important to control the risks of CNG cylinder explosions. To avoid such a dangerous scenario, Hydro Testing is necessary. As per the Indian Standards 8451: 200 & Gas Cylinder Rules 2004, it is mandatory for all CNG vehicles to get their CNG cylinder Hydro tested every three years.

CNG pumps need to make sure that the gas is dispensed only to those vehicles having updated compliance plates but in the market we see a lot of people install fake compliance plates to their vehicles just to avoid the Hydro-Testing cost. But this is very dangerous for them as well as for others. Since there is no easy way available to validate the compliance plate as of now, people continue to use fake compliance plates.
