Warehouse is an important storage facility used for the distribution of consumer products. Both perishable and imperishable items are stored in a warehouse and they can be individualistic meaning, dedicated to storing same class of items or a mixed fare of consumer goods, machinery etc. a standard تصميم المستودعات (warehouse design) is divided into 6 sections namely

A general warehouse will have these 6 sections which are necessity for the proper and efficient functioning of a ware house. It should implement organization and distribution of space for different types of operations and accordingly allot zones and the required storage rack areas.

It should be capable of handling incoming goods according to size in a normal working day. The warehouse reception should also have additional vacant area to handle goods that are arriving unscheduled.
Storage Area
Most important part of the warehouse and design of this area will depend on whether the orders are prepared within the installation or preparation will take place in the racking bays. A warehouse can have more than one section. Storage area must be built to receive different type of products and in varying quantities.
Dispatch
This section of the warehouse will have both order preparation and dispatch. This section of the warehouse must have all necessary equipment and accessories to prepare orders received from the rest of the warehouse chain.
No expenses must be spared in constructing this section because it is responsible for upholding a company’s image and name. All staff handling the order preparation must report to this section because it is responsible for regulating activities in response to external demands.
Loading docks
This area space is reserved for loading and must be enough to store entire items dispatched on a regular working day. However Structural design in Riyadh will recommend the construction of extra space or an expansion area to be built so unexpected workload or demand can be handled comfortably. Outbound areas of a warehouse are usually close to the loading docks to make the operation easy.
It should be kept in mind that warehouse design and construction is one of the structural engineering marvels which are designed with purpose. One should not let the warehouse be built by contractors who are not specialists in constructing warehouses.
