Ameresco And Valmont Industries Announce Completion Of Solar Array To Power Concrete Utility Pole Manufacturing Facility

Ameresco, a leading cleantech integrator, has completed a solar installation in collaboration with Valmont Industries at Valmont's Bristol facility in Indiana. The solar installation serves as a model for Valmont, a global leader in providing infrastructure and driving innovation in agricultural productivity. It is designed to offset 100% of the plant's electricity usage. Ameresco installed 718 kilowatts of ground-mounted PV modules, utilizing Valmont's racking and tracking system. The system is expected to produce around 980,000 kWh of electricity annually and offset nearly 766 tons of carbon dioxide emissions in its first year. Over its 25-year lifespan, the installation will offset approximately 18,040 tons of emissions.
The Bristol facility serves as a showcase for sustainable manufacturing and clean energy usage, as it combines the solar installation with Valmont's focus on lowering cement usage in utility pole products. It is the first concrete utility pole plant built in the Northeast/Midwest region of the United States, improving freight costs and reducing emissions from transportation to northern markets. The ...

Valmont's decision to incorporate clean and renewable energy sources into its production facility demonstrates its leadership and commitment to sustainability in the manufacturing and industrial space. Ameresco is proud to have played a role in integrating clean power into the facility and looks forward to supporting the adoption of clean energy in future production facilities.
The project construction began in July 2022 and was completed in June 2023. For more information about Ameresco's solar solutions, visit their website. Valmont Industries, with over 75 years of experience, is committed to conserving resources and improving life through innovative technology.
Please note that the completion of the project contract does not necessarily indicate the timing or amount of revenue generated or the overall revenue trend for the company. The project was included in Valmont's previously reported contracted backlog as of March 31, 2023.
