Every one of us should have a minimum knowledge of First Aid so that in case of an emergency we can be of any help to avoid severe incidents. But only knowing about first aid is not just enough. We should always keep first aid supplies with us at home. At home, we often might hurt ourselves or any other family members by accident. 
Keeping emergency medicine and supplies will help us to attend to these kinds of scenarios immediately before getting medical help from outside. So, for some medical supplies, you should always keep a stock in your first aid box. But the question is which medical supplies should be kept in the first aid box? Bandages

Sterile Gauze Dressings of Different Sizes

Seizure


A small seizure should always be there in your first aid box to cut Gauze and other supplies when necessary. 


Cotton


The most important first aid kit is Cotton. We need cotton for various purposes. To clean the wound, to apply medicine, to be used with gauze dressings etc. So it is a must. 


Triangular Bandages


In case you have dislocated your arm or got any injury in your elbow, then this particular bandage must be used to treat your dislocated hand, before you reach for a medical checkup. 


Antibacterial Liquid


There are good antibacterial liquids available in medical shops which you must collect for your first aid box. When you or any of your family members get hurt and injured themselves, you have to treat their wounds or cuts with antibacterial liquids first. Cleaning the wound with antibacterial liquids will help you to avoid infection. 


Antiseptic Cream


Now, what will you do after cleaning the wound? You need an antiseptic Cream to apply over the cut or would to make it heal quicker. So, yeah, you need an antiseptic Cream in your first aid box too. 


Ointment for Inflammation or Burn Injuries 


Another very important and useful first aid supply of all time is an ointment for Inflammation or burn injuries. This ointment should be used in case you have caused any injury from fire or heat. Women used to work in the kitchen and they sometimes hurt themselves by heat or fire. This ointment can help to ease the pain. Also, you can have blisters by wearing new shoes or walking too much. Inflammation ointment is the perfect solution to treat this problem.


Pain Relief Cream/ Spray


Sudden twisting of the legs or any internal injuries in our other body parts due to falls or any sort of accidents are always painful and it takes a long time to heal. In such scenarios, before reaching the doctor we can apply pain relief cream/ spray to the injured area to decrease the sharp pain. 


Crepe Bandage 


Twisted ankles or any injury at joints can be cured by applying crepe bandage in the right way. That's why players of different sports activities always carry this kind of bandage as a first aid supply.  


Painkillers


You can also keep some painkillers in your first aid kit for headaches and other minor pains. Any medicine shop will guide you regarding this.


Antacids


Antacids are a very useful medicine that almost everyone has at home to cure sudden indigestion, gas, acidity etc.


Medicines for Cough & Cold


You can also keep some general medicine for cough and cold in your first aid box. You can get help from a medical store to learn which medicine will be the best. Or else you can get some prescribed medication for cough and cold too after consulting a doctor.


Medicines for Loose Motion


It is also important to have some basic medicines for loose motions in case of emergency uses at home. 


ORS 


There should always be a packet of ORS in your box of first aid supplies. In case of dehydration, you can use it before visiting the doctor. 


Prescribed Medication if Any 


Also, if you have elderly people or children at your home, it is very important that you always keep stock of the prescribed medication to be used in case of emergency.
