Repairing Outlook Pst Corrupted After Repeated Outlook 2002 Crashes
I believe most of you must be using MS Outlook for carrying out emailing tasks in your organization. For those who do not know, Outlook uses the PST (Personal Storage Table) file to store all the information. Also, you may have experienced that quite a lot of times Outlook crashes while performing some specific task. Such tasks, when occur regularly, may make the PST file corrupt. In such cases, you should use the in-built Inbox Repair (scanpst.exe) tool to repair the PST file. However, if you are unable to repair PSTFile, then you should use a third-party PST file repair software to do the needful.
Consider a scenario wherein you are using MS Outlook 2002 in your system. When you close an email after printing it, Outlook quits abruptly. The following error message is displayed, as a result:
Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Also, when you try to view the details of the message, the following error signature is displayed:
App Name App Version Module ...
... Name Module Version Offset
---------------------------------------------------------------
Outlook.exe 11.0.5510.0 unknown 0.0.0.0 00000038
Cause:
The most possible cause of this situation is that you have installed Outlook 2000 XPrint ActiveX Control and the XPrint Add-in in your system. As it is incompatible with Outlook, it is making Outlook to crash whenever you print and close an email.
Resolution:
To resolve this erroneous situation, you should perform the following steps to uninstall the add-in:
1)Open MS Outlook.
2)Click Tools | Options
3)Click Other | Advanced Options.
4)Click the 'Add-in Manager' option in the Advanced Options box.
5)Clear the selected XPrint Add-in check box.
6)Close the dialog box to save the settings.
7)
The aforementioned steps would enable you to remove the add-in. However, if the problem still persists that means the PST file is corrupted. In these situations, you should use the Inbox Repair (Scanpst.exe) tool to repair the corrupted PST file. However, if the problem is still not resolved then you should use a third-party PST repair tool to repair PST file. Such PST recovery tools are read-only in nature that use fast yet sophisticated scanning algorithms.
