Highlights Of Rio This July 2010 Part 1

We all know that Rio de Janeiro is one of the most exciting cities in the world. But what makes it so special? Is it the Carnival, the beaches or the fantastic nightlife? The answer is yes and no. Yes because Rio is the home of some of the most fantastic parties, and here we include the famous annual Carnival and it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire world. No because there is so much more to Rio than that. Every week, every month, every year, something important is happening in this city. With this article we will share a couple of important events that will occur in July at Rio de Janeiro.

On 10th of July, the cariocas will celebrate Tom Jobin's Day which is the date of birth of Masestro Antonio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobimm. The Tom Jobim's Day is celebrated in honor of Bossa Nova and all its participants, encouragers and disseminations.

Starting from July 15th until the 17th, Rio will be the host of the Rio Sports Show which will focus on the fitness industry in Brazil. This event shall introduce to the market state of the art equipment for fitness centers, physical therapy, accessories, ...
... software, services and nutrition supplements. It has been enlarged generously when comparing to its previous edition, and the exhibitors area shall reach 20 thousand m² shared around in four pavilions. The show is expected to receive more than 40 thousand visitors during the open doors, among owners of health clubs, spas, sports associations and businessmen in the industry. Among its novelties, there is the ExpoNutrition, the first ever tradeshow and congress focused on sports nutrition in Brazil. One of the major attractions of the show shall be the booth for the Special Secretariat of Healthy Aging and Quality of Life. Here, the agency is going to put together a model unit of the Academia da Terceira Idade (ATI) (senior citizen's fitness center).

For automotive fans, Rio has prepared between 16th and 18th of July, the Car Show which will reach in 2010 its eighteen annual and consecutive shows. The RJ Car Show will be the home of hot rods, sports car, classic, competitive and vintage cars. The venue for this event will be Riocentro - GL Events Centro de Convenções - Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 - Jacarepaguá.

Also starting on July 16th is the 5th World Military Games. There will be 20 types of sports, in women's and men's categories, which shall be taken within the military facilities and sports centers. Fifteen of those modalities are in the Olympic category: athletics; boxing; basketball; fencing; soccer; horse riding; judo; swimming; modern pentathlon; taekwondo; shooting practice; triathlon; sailing; volleyball and beach volleyball, and there shall be five military modalities, such as orientation; parachuting; aeronautic pentathlon; military pentathlon and navy pentathlon. The competition will end on the 24th of the same month.

Our last reviewed event is the Imasters Interact 2010 - Digital Creativity Conference which will be organized at Sofitel Rio de Janeiro - Av. Atlântica. This event is the largest digital creativity conference in all Latin America and this year it will focus upon the advanced professionals in interactive creation and digital planning. The event will be divided into 3 distinct halls, as follows: the Arena - with lectures, talk shows and the co-creation panel; the Auditorium of experiences - projects on interactive creation, innovation and sensorial exploration and the networking foyer.
