VSP® customizes options based on the specifications and needs of the company that pays for its employees to have insurance… or based on the person who pays for VSP insurance privately. There can be a very wide range of coverages and exclusions, based on which benefits package a patient has.

VSP® coverage may get you eye exams, prescription eyeglass frames and lenses, contact lenses and even corrective eyewear. Usually, VSP® packages include an allotment that covers a certain dollar amount. If you exceed that amount, you will be responsible to pay out-of-pocket for the difference. It is also important to keep in mind that some VSP® plans cover products like anti-reflective coatings and progressive lenses, while others treat them as out-of-pocket expenses.
