APEGS is an association for the professional geoscientists and Engineers of Saskatchewan to issue licenses. Besides it regulates approximately 15,000 geoscience and engineering professionals according to the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act. This organization primarily establishes a high admission standard for the qualified geoscientist and engineer for becoming a licensed professional within the province of Saskatchewan. The APEGS work experience is basically a specific work experience report that majorly consists of the 34 elements or components. Within these components, there are 5 primary competency elements that are related to financial and project management. On the other hand, 10 elements are majorly related to technical competence. Alongside the 2 elements related to team effectiveness, communication has the 3 competencies, personal accountabilities have the 6 competencies, continuous professional development (CPD) has the 3 competencies, and lastly, the economic, environmental, social, and sustainability has the 5 competencies

Primary aims of this association

Criteria of the competency assessment system
For utilizing the competency assessment system within a regulator-particular basis, engineer-in-training, engineering license applicants, and student members alongside professional engineering applicants through the following criteria are eligible. The main following criteria are described below

● Engineers PEI
● Engineers beside Geoscientists BC
● Association of Professional Geoscientists and Engineers of Saskatchewan.
For meeting the requirements of competency and apegs work experience reporting for geoscience and engineers experience, the applicants for the license record or professional registration record their overall progress through utilizing the system and getting assessed and validated.
