Hunting as a favorite pastime in all parts of the world, and certainly in several Southern states, is well known and widely supported by hunters and wildlife management services companies that understand the industry, and the importance that good habitat and deer management plans carry to ensure a healthy industry.

Good hunting depends on the input of all important players, i.e. the landowner and the hunter – and the contribution made by services that manage wildlife conservation to help ensure great hunting opportunities for this generation, and those that will follow. Good hunting can only ever be guaranteed where landowners and hunters understand and subscribe to the ideals of responsible, ethical hunting that ensures good herds and ample healthy buck for the hunter that visits the South.

Georgia hunting clubs, Alabama hunting clubs, and hunting clubs in all neighboring states have become popular over a wide front in recent decades, since a well-managed and administered hunting club has great benefits for both the landowner and the hunter. Because of the well-recorded successes of hunting clubs in the above-mentioned ...
... regions, more landowners are relying on the services of wildlife consultancies that can assist them with such a service.

Some wildlife conservationist companies such as Alabama’s Westervelt – as well as other similar companies – are available to assist landowners to create hunt clubs for their visiting hunters, right from Alabama and Georgia to Virginia and other states in the region. Landowners that offer the public hunting leases on their lands do not always have the expertise to create, administer and run hunting leases and hunt clubs, or the time, or the inclination. Therefore they call in the services of a well-known service known throughout the region to offer the public membership of these hunt clubs.

For the hunters that inquire about – and join – one of the various hunting clubs, the benefits speak for themselves. Consider, among some, the following: the possibility to hunt on privately owned land under experienced management that looks at important issues such as habitat, deer management and culling, as opposed to most public lands where the quality of animals often does not compare.

Hunting clubs’ members also experience less pressure than those hunting on their own or on public lands since the club members are offered their leases under well-managed programs. Also, club membership can radically reduce hunting lease fees as opposed to buying a lease from a landowner on your own. Hunting club members are normally expected to contribute to gear such as tree stands, ground blinds and other features the deer hunter needs to be able to maximize their efforts. Members, as opposed to individuals, are able to share these – and other – expenses among the group, which makes cost saving a factor.

Also, negotiating other fees with the landowner, normally via the agent that manages their club for them, becomes much easier when a club is involved. It also has the benefit of club members forming friendships and a certain camaraderie which helps to keep them together and apply for the same lease year after year, with obvious benefits for the landowner in the long run. Club members, when they get to know the others and who they become friends with, are keen to help and assist their mates, i.e. the other members of the hunting club.

These are general pointers and may differ from club to club, but in the main they are good enough reasons to consider joining a hunt club in Virginia, Florida and elsewhere in the region which is known as great destination for the hunter looking a for a memorable experience hunting quality deer.

Of course every individual that may be considering joining a hunting club in the Southeast should look at the leases offered, and also at who administers such leases. Good managers of hunt clubs quickly discern themselves from others.
