Sai University is remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 147th birth anniversary, who is commonly now as the “Iron Man of India”. Mr. Patel was a senior senior leader of the Indian National Congress and a prominent figure in the Indian freedom struggle.

Mr. Patel was

the first Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister of Independent India,
playing a key role in the integration of about 565 princely states into the Indian Union,
awarded the Bharat Ratna, the Highest Civilian Award in India from the Republic of India, albeit 41 years after his death in 1950.
