We've got you covered for the entire thing. We've compiled a comprehensive list of Do's and Don'ts for D-Day.
What should you dress for the interview?
For the occasion, you are expected to dress formally.
Men
1. Should wear a formal full-sleeved shirt and trousers that have been freshly ironed.
2. Finely polished formal shoes (black or brown)
3. A belt and tie (knotted properly)
3. Put on a light-colored or pastel-colored shirt.
4. Don't forget to dress neatly on the day of the interview. Shave thoroughly.
5. Apply a light deodorant.
6. Wearing a blazer is not required. If you have one, you can wear it to give yourself a cleaner appearance.
Women
1. Can dress ...
... in salwar-kameez, saree, skirt, and shirt. The shirt should be in pastel or light colors. The skirt should at the very least cover the knees.
2. If you have long hair, plait it neatly or care for it in a way that it does not appear unkempt.
3. Formalized polished bellies Sandals designed for formal occasions are acceptable.
How should you enter the room?
After a minute or so, one of the panel members or one of the assistants will ask you to enter the room. Request permission to enter the room by saying, "May I come in, Sir / Madam?" Come in with a smile. Please greet the entire panel. If they don't sit themselves, ask for permission. Thank them when they ask you to sit.
How should you sit in the interview room?
Sit back in your chair and relax. Avoid crossing your legs. Maintain parallel thighs to the ground. Your arms can rest on the chair's armrests or on your lap. The folder containing your certificates and other documents should be placed on your lap rather than on the table. Remember, the table is the panel's property. Avoid postures that convey a carefree attitude. Avoid rocking the chair, crossing your arms, or placing one leg horizontally over the other.
What should be the body language?
Body language is a type of nonverbal communication ability that consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Body language, or nonverbal communication, can reveal more about you than what you say. Be your true self. This will demonstrate your self-assurance. Members of interview panels, on the other hand, are experts who can easily detect inconsistencies between what you say and what your body language conveys. Make use of gestures. Lean forward slightly to demonstrate to the panel that you are interested in what they are saying / asking. Do not lean or rest your arms or elbows on the table while doing so. Avoid fidgeting. It demonstrates nervousness.
How you should speak?
Use formal language and only speak in English. The interviewer may speak in Hindi or in a casual manner. However, you must remain sincere and formal. Some of us have a habit of mixing English and vernacular. In the interview, avoid doing this. Slang should be avoided at all costs. Short sentences that convey the meaning of what you want to say are best. Avoid using complex sentences and lengthy explanations. Because the interviewer has a lot of other candidates to interview, he may lose interest in you.
What should be your conduct inside the room?
Always pay close attention to the questions you are asked. Do not speak up during the interview. If you cannot understand or hear the question, politely request that the panel member clarify or repeat the question. Always speak in a slow, measured, and calm tone so that everyone on the panel can clearly hear and understand what you're saying. There is no need to 'spit out the answer' to the posed question. Take a few moments to gather your thoughts before responding. If you can't think of an answer right away, you can ask for a few seconds to collect your thoughts. Maintain constant eye contact with the panel and present a pleasant demeanor to the interviewers, regardless of your mental state. Even if you are unable to answer a question, you can state that you are unaware of the answer. Don't freak out. They want to see how you react in a situation, so getting all of the right answers may not be expected. Remember that there will be some nervousness when you go for an interview. But you must be careful not to let your nerves get the best of you.
How to leave the room?
At the end of the interview, thank the panelists. Your body language and smile should indicate how much you enjoyed the experience. When you leave the room, remember to take your certificates with you and to close the door behind you.
