Competitive sports are a part of many different cultures around the world. Not only do sports provide us with a fun and meaningful activity, but they also give us a chance to burn through calories and fat while having a good time. Playing sports for exercise is a great idea, but you have to wonder - which sport is the best fat burner? This article presents three fat-burning competitive sports you may want to consider.

Baseball

Baseball is a great exercise in strength training. Shoulders and arms will greatly benefit from throwing a baseball across the field. Your entire upper body will also gain a lot of benefit from every swing of the bat. However, even though you run from base to base and to go grab the ball, there is not too much constant motion involved. In fact, if you are on the fielding team, a lot of your time will be spent motionless waiting for the batter to hit the ball. So, even though baseball can help you burn fat and calories, you may want to step it up a notch from that.

Football

Football steps up the intensity dramatically. Not only will you get the benefits of strength ...
... training from holding off and attempting to burst through your opponents, but you will be running in many different positions on the field. You'll also get the strength benefits of throwing the football. That makes football a great choice if you are playing sports for exercise. Although you will burn a lot of calories playing football, you may wonder if there is a sport that is even more intense. There is. It's called soccer.

Soccer

Soccer is most likely the best fat burner of any competitive sport that you would play for fun. Soccer involves constant motion in almost every position on the field. While the goalie of each team does not do much running around, the rest of the team certainly does. In soccer, every other person on the field is in constant motion, running up and down the field trying to kick the ball into the opposing team's goal. This constant motion will work to raise your heart rate and get your blood pumping. That makes soccer one of the very best cardiovascular workouts around.

So, the next time that you're playing sports for exercise, you have a few choices. You could play baseball or football if you are a big fan, and they are good choices. But if you are looking for an intense workout, that will burn calories and fat quickly, try to find a soccer field!
