IPC Section 15 is an important section in the Indian Penal Code which deals with certain offenses which are punishable even if the offense is committed without the consequences. According to this section, if a person is punishable with an offence, he is held responsible for the act done by him in order to be guilty of it.

Under this section, if a person abets another person to commit an offence, he is also punishable for that offence, if that person does not intend the offense to be of consequence. Similarly, if a person is punishable for an offense but is not held responsible for what he has done, he is punished for criminal punishment rather than punishment.
