The best time to visit the Gir Forest is between October and May when the weather is pleasant and the wildlife is more active. The forest is closed during the monsoon season, which is between June and September. The forest can be explored on foot, but most visitors prefer to take a jeep safari. The jeep safari takes you deep into the forest, where you can see the wildlife up close and personal.
