ISO 41001:2018 is a standard released by the International Organization for Standardization that outlines facility management rules. It has the same core text, definitions, and vocabulary as other ISO standards, such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management). Before the release of ISO 41001 in April 2018, supporting ISO 41001 documents such as standards describing FM vocabulary, important ideas, benefits, and agreement development were also published. The goal of the standard is to assist companies in demonstrating efficient and effective FM, pursuing uniformity when establishing FM criteria, and achieving sustainability.
