A cool roof coating significantly lowers roof temperatures thanks to its high thermal reflectance and solar reflectivity. Cool roof paint keeps offices, go-downs, houses, sheds, or any other building cool by reflecting the sun's heat. They are excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation, abrasion and moisture. They are excellent water resistance.



Applications method of cool roof coating



Preparation of the substrate: Tile glaze or varnish and all dust, loose and friable materials must be completely removed mechanically. For a solid, gripping substrate, existing coatings and membranes must be inspected, cleaned, and mechanically ground.



Repair and reinforce: Use roof patch in accordance with the label's instructions to patch and repair cracks, blisters, and other problematic areas. It is possible to open blisters in previous coatings, but these areas must be allowed to dry completely. Unless they are likely to break, blisters in the roofing ply should be left alone. Seal and reinforce any holes, cracks, open seams, or roof penetrations. Work carefully and thoroughly because these could leak. Fabric can be used to reinforce various coating repairs and to construct flashings around roof edges or penetrations.



Coating: When the roof is dry and the sealant has set, apply the coating. A foot extension pole, a paint roller measuring 12 inches for dipping in the pail or 1 1/4 inches for spreading the coating on the roof, and a sturdy frame are all you'll need. With base coats and emulsions, use a roller. Draw a map of your roof and fill each pail to the top.



The final check is to use a stiff paint brush to apply Crack & Joint Sealant. For recommended coverage, refer to the product details. Always apply topcoats with a very thick coat. To achieve the desired effect, two light coats or one heavier coat can also be applied.
