Creating a Safe and Supportive Living Environment for Adults with Down Syndrome
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people with disabilities, including those with Down Syndrome to live as independently as possible through funded support and services. Thinking about moving out of parental care and wanting to live in a space of their own is an important part of adulthood. Adults with Down Syndrome may require care and support to help them with this transition. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is the funded support that can help them in this process.

Essentially, Supported Independent Living (SIL) means living in your own home while receiving assistance. It is paid personal support which will help the participants to carry out daily activities, take care of personal care tasks, receive help with medication management as well as medical appointments and build their independent living skills. The choice of where and with whom the participant prefers to reside is entirely up to them. Though Supported Independent Living is a shared support, it is possible to access SIL support even while the participant ...
... is living alone if it suits their disability support needs.

Adults with Down Syndrome do well in a structured environment and SIL assistance will help them develop a routine. Supported Independent Living will provide a safe and supportive living environment which will help them to achieve all their NDIS goals.

Classy Life can help the participants in developing custom SIL support care plans which will provide the maximum benefits. As a registered NDIS service provider, we pride ourselves on our method of addressing the needs of each participant individually. If you want to access our SIL services, do reach out to us today. Contact Classy Life to know more about various NDIS-funded support and services that may help adults with Down Syndrome.
