5 Event Trends In 2023 You Need To Know About

If you have, as we have for months, you have probably felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of articles, predictions, and information overload. We certainly did.
If you haven't already, today is your lucky day.
Whether you're planning a corporate event, Atlanta history museum wedding reception, fundraiser, grand gala, product launch, or any other public or private event, we've compiled a list of universal predictions for event trends in 2023 that you should keep in mind.
1. Make attendees’ phones an integral part of the event
With all of the planning and careful preparation that goes into every event, it can be aggravating to see guests ignoring the festivities because they are too preoccupied with their phones. What is the solution? Include their phones as a part of the event experience.
Event planners may not be able to completely prevent people from using their smartphones, but by 2023, there will be a lot more 'heads up' technology, such as large-scale interactive games where smartphones are merely controllers. Alternatively, polls and crowd-streaming content (using content shared live via ...
... social media) can be broadcast on overhead screens (again, where smartphones only supply the content). Or simply more dynamic video, audio, and audience interaction (such as using Crowd Mics to turn everyone's phone into a microphone).
2. Interactivity is the new event buzzword
Guests and attendees no longer simply sit and observe. They want interactive events in this interactive world. Holograms, virtual reality, gamification, and other immersive experiences were featured at events in 2022. We can expect it to grow larger and more spectacular in 2023.
More than just conference tables and light snacks are important to event attendees. Events have enormous potential to increase attendee engagement and interaction, and event planners are working hard to find new ways to create meaningful experiences. Mobile apps, touchscreen technology, and photo opportunities with instant upload and social sharing are just a few of the trends we expect to dominate the events industry this year.
Interactivity isn't limited to technology either.
Delicious food is no longer enough. Guests nowadays want to experiment with their food and be surprised. Shells that dissolve when a liquid is poured over them, revealing a main course or a dessert; Chefs as performance artists who go beyond a chef demo and allow guests to get up close and personal with the process; Allowing guests to paint their plates with sauces as if it were art.
3. Embracing new frontiers in technology
We live in the heart of Atlanta and use cutting-edge technology, so our events should reflect that. Event technology ranges from overhead drone photos and live footage videos to LED dance floors and artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
Virtual reality is the most important technology that we will see more of at events. This technology does not have to be limited to high-end events. It is a technology that is relatively inexpensive to implement. Viewers such as Google Cardboard make this technology very accessible and affordable. Look for venues that offer virtual reality tours of their spaces to out-of-town planners and wedding photographers who offer virtual reality filming to wedding clients.
4. Being mindful about sustainability
For decades, Atlanta has been a trendsetter in sustainable living. We'll be taking our sustainability mindset to new heights in our events in 2023. We're not just talking about reusing, recycling, and using eco-friendly materials.
Offering sustainable, fair-trade food options and donating anything leftover or unused (ranging from food to flower arrangements to bottled water) to community organisations such as homeless shelters or senior living facilities are other trends in this space.
5. Using unexpected venues
Event organisers and planners are always looking for new and unique experiences and products. They will seek out non-traditional spaces like museum venue rental that will surprise their guests in 2023. (in a good way).
These are just five of the many predicted event and party rental industry trends for 2023.
