How does Stable Diffusion work?
Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, and MidJourney are all generative art models that use deep learning techniques to generate images. They work by training a neural network on a large dataset of images and their associated text descriptions. The text-to-image model Stable Diffusion, released in 2022, uses an encoder-decoder architecture to generate images from text descriptions. The text descriptions are called "prompts". The model takes a text description as input and encodes it into a compact representation, which is then used to generate the corresponding image. The model is trained to generate detailed images that are conditioned on text descriptions, and it can be applied to tasks such as inpainting, outpainting, and generating image-to-image translations guided by a text prompt.
How can I test out Stable Diffusion text to image?
There are many different services that offer access to Stable Diffusion as well as a wide variety of open source projects that you can download and run. Generally, Stable Diffusion requires a high powered GPU with plenty of video RAM to be run locally on a desktop with any degree of speed. There are a number of sites where you can test out Stable Diffusion online including StableDiffusionWeb.com, Replicate.com, PromptHunt.com, StableDiffusionApi.com and many more. There are also some popular open source projects like Automatic1111's Stable Diffusion Web-UI.
Is it easy to use Stable Diffusion from Delphi?
You can use Python4Delphi to interface with the official Stable Diffusion open source project and run code from there.
You can use TDosCommand or some other command line component or even ShellExecute to run the Python command line version of Stable Diffusion.
You can access Stable Diffusion via API through a number of different providers including Replicate.com, RunPod.io, StableDiffisionApi.com, and more.
You can wrap an online version of Stable Diffusion or even run your own version on a cloud server and then load it up within Delphi using TWebBrowser.
Besides text to image what else can Stable Diffusion do?
Stable Diffusion allows you to write a text to image prompt, but it also allows you to pass in an image at the same time using its img2img functionality. The prompt and the image are used as guides to generate the final image. Other functionality it has is the ability to do inpainting and outpainting which allows you to pass in a mask where the model will paint inside or outside of the mask only. You can even generate videos with Stable Diffusion. Other recent developments include txt2mask and pix2pix. Txt2mask allows writing a prompt which will then create a mask. For example, you could ask it to mask a face and it would provide a black and white and gray scale mask for the face in the photo that you passed to it. Pix2pix allows replacement of certain features of an image.
