Dr. Sarita Verma (PHD, NET, SET) is an active researcher in the field of cultural geography. She belongs to Tehsil Shillai District Sirmour. She has completed graduation and masters with first division and pursued her research degrees (M.Phil. & PhD) from Himachal Pradesh University "NAAC' 'A* grade Shimla. She has three international and two national research papers (UGC listed) published to her credit in different journals on different themes of cultural geography such as place names and settlement. folk food and customs, traditional medicine, ballads and oral traditions and some are under pablication. She has presented her research work in many international and national conferences: She is life member of The Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata and Geographical Society of Himachal Pradesh. The present work is culmination of all the observations and knowledge that she explored up to present as researcher is native of Trans-Giri Region.
