A few weeks after a delivery partner from Swiggy succumbed to a road accident wherein his scooter collided with a car, the online food delivery app announced a program that arranged for ambulance service. This facility will be able for all delivery partners and their dependents. The service is free for not just the delivery partners but also their spouses, dependents, and two children. All the members mentioned will get coverage under the insurance scheme by Swiggy. The facility is also offered for other family members of the delivery partners at a subsidized cost.
Presently, Swiggy has more than 300,000 delivery partners throughout the country. The delivery partners can access the ambulance service by tapping the SOS button on their profile. The feature is also provided if the member calls on the toll-free number. At this time, the response time for SOS is 12 minutes. The Head of Operations, Mihir Rajesh Shah said that Swiggy is committed to the safety of its delivery partners. It has been years since they have invested in procedures and products that prioritize the well-being and safety of their delivery partners.

... Now with ambulance service, Swiggy is ensuring safety with ease for delivery partners, so that they can access help when it is required. The app has thus partnered with Dial4242 Ambulance Services and to request assistance, the delivery partner has to validate his/her partner id. There is no requirement for documentation to benefit from the procedure. Dial4242 will assess the seriousness of the situation and then deploy the necessary ambulance including ALS, BLS ambulance, interstate ambulance, cardiac ambulance, hearse vans, and Covid-19 ambulance.
The service is now available across India, which was earlier available in Hyderabad, NCR, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The Co-founder of Dial4242, Jeetendra Lalwani said that they have 10,000+ ambulances, spread over 500+ cities in the country. The service is diverse and comes with several facilities and on-ground support for the victim in just a few minutes, essential to save a valuable life. As for Swiggy partners, Dial4242 will get the closest cashless hospital to ensure quick care for the delivery partners.
