When people first hear words like health and diet put together, they immediately assume the worst. First they think that the food are bland, tasteless and can be compared to cardboard. However, this is simply not the case as there are a lot of health foods and drinks out there that could be bought or made at home. The things that are needed are simply great fruits and vegetables as well as a blender and lots of ice.

Fruit Punch

Watermelon is a great base for a fruit drink and making fruit punch with watermelon not only makes great drinking, but is an excellent source fluid for hydration on a really hot and sweaty day and it is also filled with vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Simply cut some sections of watermelon and cube into one inch cuts, make enough to fill half a pitcher. Then, if you can get some young coconut meat and juice just put it in together with the watermelon in the pitcher. Next, mix with some heart of coconut that had been cubed very finely (if there are none available, don't fret). Drop in cubes of melons and melon dew in the pitcher with the rest of the fruits and last but not least, add ...
... a glass of instant orange juice. No need for sweeteners here. Finally, add water to the combination, enough to fill a pitcher. Place in the refrigerator to cool, if you can't wait, just pour it over some crushed or cubed ice. Drink and munch to your heart's content.

The Waldorf

Here is a recipe that some may not like when they first hear and read about the ingredients, however this is a very good combination that is hard to forget especially when served with chilled white wine on a special occasion. All you need are some apples and some about three to four stalks of celery. In a blender, simply combine peeled and cubed apples with the celery and chilled white wine. Blend together until smooth, then add crushed ice and blend again. It will look like a smoothie, but it will be one incredible sophisticated smoothie.

Tropical Smoothie

A simple smoothie is actually just a blend of some fruits and ice with hardly any sweetener. However, the tropical smoothie will give the simplicity a twist by combining some fruits that some would not think of doing. Try combining some bananas, pineapple, ice cubes and some water in a blender until it is smooth.

If you don't like bananas, that is fine too, why not make it even simpler. How about some lychee and young coconut, or even orange and pineapple? There are so many combinations that will make great smoothies; all it takes is a little bit of active imagination and some trial and error.

Make the combination special during holidays by using white wine instead of water. For some, they use champagne, but that may be too much for some. The point is, the possibilities are endless and it is just the hesitant mind that will put a stop to great taste.
