Although change is unavoidable, it is an unsettling and unsettling concept. Even as adults, any type of change necessitates a reasonable adjustment, no matter how small or large. Even something as simple as reducing our caffeine intake has an unfavorable impact on our daily lives. Consider the same scenario for children and young adolescents. Any type of change elicits a variety of reactions, some of which are overwhelmingly negative. Moving to a new school is an emotional challenge for your child because it takes them out of their comfort zone without the right educational tools for preschoolers. It is a complete change from their usual social circle and routine, and in the case of families who relocate to a completely different city, state, or country, the effects are dual. As parents of young children and teenagers, we dread any type of transition or change; however, accepting it as an unavoidable change can alleviate many of our anxieties and apprehensions.

Moving your base, uprooting your life, and starting over is never easy. However, children of parents with transferable jobs do not always have this option. In ...
... fact, they have grown to enjoy the location hopping. From planning ahead of time to sticking to a routine, choosing schools with branches across the country, and more, here are some tips for parents and children to help make the transition easier.

Validate and Acknowledge –
Accepting change with open arms is recommended, but expecting your children to accept change positively with no reservations is unrealistic. Rather, validate your child's concerns, fears, and anxiety. Discuss your child's fears with them and relate to them. You may have felt uneasy about a change in your lifestyle at some point in your life; use this opportunity to relate to and share your experiences with your child. Instead of dismissing their fears, validate them. Recognize that change is difficult, but also assure them that it is not as frightening as they believe.

Visit The New School Often –
Familiarizing yourself and your child with the school can help them adjust to this new stage of their lives. Fear of the unknown is all too common in children, and if your child's first day of school is also their first day of visiting the school, assuaging their fears will be difficult. Instead, take your child to the school, show them around the various play and recreational areas of the school where they can play, and then take them out for pancakes or treats to ensure that they have a positive memory associated with visiting their new school.

Arrange For Play Dates –
Arrange a play date with a student from your child's new school if you know someone or know the parents of the children who attend that school. This allows your child to interact with students who may become potential friends and helps them break the initial barrier of being afraid of strangers or interacting in a strange environment.

Lastly, Enjoy the Process –
Remember that you are going through this transition as a family. Make certain that your child does not feel isolated during this entire process and have preschool educational resources. Rather, embrace it as a family. Perhaps you could go as a family to drop off your child on their first day. Take them out for ice cream, and prepare a mini-celebration after-school lunch for your child for completing the first day. Make sure your child has a strong eco-system at home, which will make them feel more confident and secure, making it easier for them to face this challenge!

Pick Schools That Have A Wide Network
Many schools have a nationwide network of great schools and centers that ensure that any student who wishes to relocate can have some sense of stability in any state or city their family wishes to relocate to!
