Star Chef Dimitri Marit Takes To The Skies With Brussels Airlines

Every six months, Brussels Airlines works with a different Michelin-starred chef from a different part of Belgium to make the menus for its Business Class on long-haul Cheap Brussels airlines flight tickets. The airline's culinary journey will continue in June in the province of Walloon Brabant, where two generations of the Marit family at La Maison Marit in Braine-L'Alleud live up to a very high standard of fine dining.

Brussels Airlines works with a different top Belgian chef from a different Belgian province twice a year to create a high-end dining experience for Business Class passengers on flights to the US, Canada, and Africa. Chef Dimitri Marit from La Maison Marit has taken on the challenge of recreating his menus for a dining experience at an altitude of 30,000 feet. He will do this for the next six months. Chef Dimitri and Brussels Airlines are working together to show the world the best of what Belgium has to offer when it comes to food and to show off the country's culinary skills.

... that has had a Michelin Star since it opened in 1991. Chef Marit runs the restaurant with his father Jacques and his wife Emmanuelle. Chef Marit has found a good balance between classic and modern, as well as between creativity and advanced techniques, by combining his love of local, seasonal food with ideas from other cuisines.

Chef Marit has made six menus for Business Class passengers on international flights to Africa and North America. These menus use local ingredients from the Walloon Brabant region to make classic Belgian dishes with new twists. In June, the first menu will include dishes like smoked salmon bavarois with cucumber and herring caviar, lamb ravioli with parmesan sauce, snow peas, and broad beans, and sole soufflé with green peas, cauliflower, and risotto.

The chef also chose beers from his area, from the brewery Belgo Sapiens, to go with his meals. The famous Cheese Refiners Van Tricht in Antwerp also has a selection of cheeses. Brussels Airlines has wanted to be a flying representative of Belgium for a long time. The airline serves a wide range of Belgian beers and wines on its flights. Neuhaus also sells Belgian pralines that people can enjoy.

Pierre Résimont, Geert Van Hecke, and Peter Goossens are among the other chefs who have worked for Brussels Airlines in the past (Hof van Cleve).

We keep putting money into improving our guests' experiences on the ground and in the air. Our customers love the high-quality meals that our Belgian chefs make for them. It is very hard for a chef to make delicious meals on board, but Dimitri has done a great job. For six menus like this, it takes about 5 months to get everything ready. We worked together very hard, but we're happy with how it turned out.

It's the first time I've been able to work for an airline. I was surprised by how many rules there are about food on board, but I am very happy with what we have done. I'm excited to spread the word about Belgian food on Brussels Airlines flights, and I'm interested to see how their customers react.
