Tourist Attractions of Devikulam

Mattupetty Lake and Dam : Mattupetty has always served as a popular tourist attraction and one of the most attractive part of this place is the still water from the Dam in which the surrounding tea plantations are reflected. The Mattupetty Lake offers speed boat riding and trekking in Shola forest.

Eravikulam National Park : The Eravikulam National Park is home to the endangered species of the Nilgiri Tahr. The park also houses other animals like the Sambar Deer, langurs and Malabar civet.

Sita Devi Lake : The much famed Lake after which the town of Devikulam was named, the Sita Devi Lake is a sacred and pure lake. This lake also has medicinal properties and is still in its unspoilt form. It is surrounded by lush green trees and forests.

... Falls : Popularly called as the Rainbow Falls, the Keezharkuthu falls is a popular tourist attraction in Devikulam. The surrounding area is the home of various herbs and medicinal plants. The region also offers adventure sports like mountaineering and rock climbing.

Kundala Lake : The Kundala Lake is situated near Munnar. There are many options of boat riding such as the Shikara ride, row boating and pedal boating which can be rented. The lake itself is surrounded by thick trees which provides ample space for viewing the serenity of the lake sitting down.

Thoovanam Falls : The Thoovanam waterfalls is formed by the River Pambar and is a perfect place where you can take a swim and dip in the crystal clear waters of the pool below the waterfalls or stand lazily under the thundering waterfalls.

By air : The Cochin International airport which is at 150 kilometers from Devikulam is the nearest airport.

By train : The nearest railway station is the Kottayam station which is at a distance of 130 kilometers.

By road :Buses are available from all parts of Kerala and Taxis can also be hired which will offer a pleasant journey.
