The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College started its journey in the academic year 1999-2000 by the inspiration of daughter of Father of the Nation & defender of the democracy Prime Minister Janonetri Sheikh Hasina.
The college was founded and established in the year 2000.
The college offers a five-year course of study, affiliated with Dhaka University approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council(BMDC), National Medical Commission (NMC) and World Health Organisation(WHO).
The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Hospital is located in a serene environment on 8.10 acres of land right in the heart of Dhaka
An extremely new modern six storied academic building covering an enormous area of one lac twenty-three thousand square feet with all modern amenities is completed with the starting of academic sessions
The college started its journey with 50 students in the academic year 2000.
Presently the college has about 978 students in which 140 students are admitted during every academic year including up to a maximum of 50% foreign students.

The Hospital was established in the year 1953 with 720 beds delivering clinical services in all specialties of medical science.
Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital has an advanced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with latest equipment’s and newly developed 5-OT’S (Operation Theatre’s).
The outdoor patient unit is well equipped with central AC for the comfort of the patients.
The college library is spacious and well developed with all latest edition text books and reference titles and others.
The accommodation for the students is also provided in separate hostels for boys and girls under the supervision of hostel superintendent.
The distance of the college is around 14.0kms from Hazrat Shah Jalal airport.
