Organizing Your Proposal – The Right Way To Do

Over all these years, we have worked on numerous proposals. As we write more and more of these proposals we tend to miss out on a specific structure. All the technical proposal writers must remove time to build up a standard structure for their RFPs and also the proposals that they create for their clients. A structure is required irrespective of what you are selling.
As we have different kinds of proposals, there are different ways to organize them. Let us check some here.
Organizing an RFP
The situations with RFPs tend to be easier as most of the time they you will be told what to include and what not to.
RFP format
When you have been given a task to create an RFP from a procurement team, they are quite particular with their structure and they know what needs to be added and in what format. The primary goal here is to create a cohesive proposal across different companies to make it easier so that thing can be evaluated objectively.
For non-RFP formats
For the non-RFP formats, a technical proposal writer should ...
... focus on story-telling. You need to show the way you understand customer’s challenges, highlight why you are the right choice for them, and end with a strong selling note. The main sections of such a proposal are:
Cover Letter: This is very important because it will guide the reader about the contents of the proposal. The space here gives you a perfect place to speak about your current relationship with the customer, highlight anything unique about your offering, and also add a more personal touch to your proposal. Cover letter should not be more than a page’s length.
Project summary: This space should be used to give an overview of your project. This can be anywhere from one paragraph to multiple pages depending on the project. This can act as a brief of the solution that is coming in the next section.
Solution overview: The section will offer a detailed overview of how it will work for your client. You must use all the information you can to convince your readers for the solution offered.
Team overview: The section where you can talk about the team that works on the project. You can also include short bios of the team members so that the client will have a good knowledge of your team.
When you end, the proposal does not forget to mention your cost. This section will have little content but factual information about the prices. Price quotes play an important role in proposal writing government contracts. Talk to us to know more.
