According to Indian tradition, Diwali is the festival of commemorative Lord Ram's coming back to Ayodhya, along with his dear wife Sita, and loving brother Lakshman and fervent enthusiast Hanuman after winning the victory over devil king Ravana. They come back to Ayodhya with explosions of ego. However, this signifies a huge victory of the virtuous over evil.
