FaceBook is literally loaded with applications and games. From building a farm to city living, many of these games are ‘Sim’ like adventures, allowing you to control various aspects of your avatar and their environment. Some of these, like Farmville, have become so massively popular it seems that everyone is playing them. One of the most unique, and perhaps most fun, is the game ‘County Life.

Country life gives a user the ability to build and develop a ranch, complete with buildings, crops and animals. Finishing various activities allows a player to ‘level up’ and access new areas and abilities of the game. Very interactive, users develop a list of friends and can exchange gifts with them. Originally created in 2009, the game has undergone several major changes in response to requests from their Facebook fan base. Today, thousands of players interact with the community on a daily basis.

In the beginning this may only be a few minutes each day, but serious players with larger ranches, lots of animals and crops to look after often spend hours a day maintaining their ranch. Because of the large community this time is fun and productive.

Over the past few months, there have been several issues with the game, making it unavailable to FaceBook users for brief periods of time. The creators always address these problems immediately. While this delay annoys some players, most are able to handle the downtime and do not consider it reason to not play.
