Do you know that the Statue of Unity is 597 feet tall? Yes, this statue is the tallest in the world.
The statue of unity depicts a great Indian activist and statesman named Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who lives from 1875 to 1950. The project's making was announced in 2010, but the statue's construction started on 31st October 2013. The statue is constructed by one of the greatest companies in India, namely Larsen and Toubro (L&T). Ram V.Sutar designed the statue of unity, and the project was completed on 30th October 2018.

Approximately Rupees 2700 crore was costed in constructing this statue which was inaugurated on 31st October 2018 by the Prime Minister of India. The inauguration date was decided to keep the birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel in mind. On 31st October 2018, it was the 143rd birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel, so Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, decided to inaugurate the statue on the same day.

From the shins to the thighs of the statue is the second zone, and the third zone is extended to 153 meters in height and has a viewing gallery. The fourth and fifth zones are not accessible by the public as the fourth zone is the maintenance area, and the fifth zone comprises of shoulder and head of the statue.
