Jewelries have been so significant even from the beginning of our culture. Many cultures have had a practice of keeping jewelries at some point. Some people keep it as jewelries can also be symbolic of a group membership such as the Christian crucifix or to symbolize commitment as implied when two married people wear their wedding rings. Some people keep a large amount of jewelry as it also signifies wealth and something of a great value. For some cultures, they even use it as a dowry in place of money, goods, or estate that a woman brings to her husband in marriage.
Jewelries' great value gives more reason for women to be attracted to it as it commonly denoted status in the society. Since the beginning of most cultures, the society dictated who could wear what type of jewelry depending on rank.
