When deciding which antivirus is best for you, there are many things to consider. Webroot and Kaspersky are among the most well-known antivirus, but which one is right for you: Webroot vs Kaspersky? Both Webroot and Kaspersky offer reliable products with many different features. Choosing the right product is a real challenge as a sub-par service can leave you with an unresponsive computer infected by ransomware or keyloggers.

Our daily lives depend on smartphones, computers, Android devices, etc. Every device is loaded with sensitive data that can harm us if the data falls into the wrong hands. Threats and viruses are emerging more often. Antivirus software is begging for trouble. But which one should you choose? To help you make the best choice, we will compare Kaspersky and Webroot.

BACKGROUND
Webroot provides threat intelligence and security for endpoints and networks to businesses and individuals worldwide. It is a market leader in cyber resilience for companies and offers a range of home antivirus software. OpenText developed Webroot and its parent company Carbonite in 2019, an international leader in ...
... Enterprise Information Management.

Kaspersky is well recognized in the antivirus world, protecting over 400 million users. It was established in 1997 in Russia and has helped fight many sophisticated threats. Despite its unique portfolio, many are wary of the company because of its alleged ties to the Russian government.

WEBROOT VS KASPERSKY: MAJOR FEATURES
Webroot is cloud-based and takes only 20 seconds to scan your PC for security threats, which is about 60 times faster than other products, including Kaspersky. Also, it helps Webroot save important space for other things like music, pictures, videos, etc. Webroot has a webcam security feature which is great.

On the other hand, Kaspersky’s key features include a global threat intelligence system that responds to emerging threats with multi-layered endpoint protection, local file encryption, centralized management, real-time malware protection, and more.

KASPERSKY VS WEBROOT: SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
A good antivirus product should have minimal effect on system speed. This is almost as important as protection against malware, as no one wants a backward computer.

So, let’s go back to trusted organizations and see how they rate both products on system performance.

According to AV-Test.org’s performance test, Webroot did well on it and scored around 5.5 out of 6.

But Kaspersky was even better and scored 6 out of 6.

Let’s consider the performance test by AV-Comparatives. Webroot did not appear in this assessment, while Kaspersky did very well, receiving the Advanced+ award.

WEBROOT VS KASPERSKY: MALWARE PROTECTION
Premium products get regular updates for new malware purposes. Therefore, it is expected that they should be able to deliver maximum protection against all types of malware and cyber threats. Let’s see how today’s antivirus products perform in this area.

To compare products, we will take help from independent evaluations by AV-Test and AV-Comparatives. AV-Test rates the products on a 1 – 6 scale, with 6 being the highest score. The AV-Comparatives ranking system includes 3 awards: Advanced+, Advanced, and Standard.

Webroot didn’t appear in the latest AV-Test August 2019 security test. Therefore, for comparison, we will consider the June 2019 review in which it participated.

Webroot scored a mediocre 2 out of 6 on this test.

In contrast, Kaspersky scored a perfect 6 out of 6.

Let’s examine how the two companies fared in the AV-Comparatives ‘Real-World Protection Test’. Once again, Kaspersky showed a top performance and received the highest Advanced+ award. But Webroot didn’t participate in this assessment.

WEBROOT VS KASPERSKY: PRICES
Although the best free antivirus product has its place, the most powerful protection requires a subscription plan. With Webroot and Kaspersky, customers can spend for the subscription tiers of their choice, which offer a variety of available features.

To help you choose between them, we will look at Webroot and Kaspersky’s price subscription plans.

Webroot Products Regular Price Discounted Price
Webroot Antivirus $39.99/year No Discount
Webroot Internet Security Plus $59.99/year No Discount
Webroot Internet Security Complete $79.99/year No Discount
Webroot Business Products $150.00/year No Discount
Kaspersky Products Regular Price
Kaspersky Antivirus $59.99/year
Kaspersky Internet Security $79.99/year
Kaspersky Total Security $99.99/year
Kaspersky Security Cloud (Personal) $89.99/year
Kaspersky Security Cloud (Family) $149.99/year
Kaspersky Small Office Security $149.99/year
Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud $300.00/year
COMPARISON CHART

WEBROOT VS KASPERSKY: CUSTOMER SUPPORT
If you can’t resolve a problem, it’s important to have dedicated support to guide you. Webroot’s website has a FAQ section and ticketing system, or you can contact support by mobile or via the company’s social feed.

Kaspersky has a great support center with videos and other helpful information to answer your question. Alternatively, you can call 7 days a week between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. or reach a representative through online chat or email.

CONCLUSION
While Webroot vs Kaspersky offer a complete set of features to compete against each other in cyberspace, Webroot takes its toll as there are too many features to overlook. Kaspersky is lacking in features like ultra-fast scans, cloud integration, etc. Kaspersky is a better value product, but again you have to pay more for premium features which helps you to opt for better options. So, if you want to go premium with extra features and utilities, Webroot is likely your best choice because it is cloud-based, and you get what you pay for.
