The Religious History Of Umrah

Umrah is a spiritual journey that was the direct Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. In Islamic traditions, Umrah has great values and virtues for Muslims. During Umrah, Muslims get a chance to visit the house of Allah SWT, which is a great blessing of Allah SWT on his creature. Visiting Allah SWT’s house is the core reason for which this pilgrimage started. Islamic history throws light on all aspects and on all incidents that happened on and after the migration of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW from Makah to Medina. Now it looks very easy to reach there and to perform Umrah by availing of renowned September UMRAH Packages, but in past, it was not the case. History, tells us the difficulties faced by Muslims after Migration to Medina and how they wished to visit the house of Allah SWT. In this article, we will study how this pilgrimage named Umrah started.

The First Pilgrimage:

The importance of this pilgrimage can be observed by reading numerous hadiths of Holy prophet Muhammad SAW in which he SAW declared this as a minor pilgrimage with numerous spiritual benefits. This is one of the great opportunities to seek forgiveness from Allah SWT.

The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah:

After one year of the migration by Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW from Makah to Medina, All Muslims wished to visit the house of Allah SWT, and they started to move towards the Makah from Media under the supervision of Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW. But the tension between both groups was high, and the people of Makah thought Muslims are coming to attack Makah, so they stopped the Muslims at the place of Hudaybiyyah. At this place, both groups signed a treaty which was later recognized as the treaty of Hudaybiyyah. So this year, Muslims have to return back without performing the Hajj. in 629 CE, the Holly Prophet Muhammad SAW along with two thousand companions and followers, performed Umrah. And that was a mini-pilgrimage known as the First Umrah in the history of Islamic traditions. This Umrah consisted of three days long, in which Muslims perform Tawaf and Sayee according to the direction of Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW as per his dream in which he saw performing the rituals of Umrah. Muslims must also fulfill this Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad by booking cheap Umrah packages 2023 and to carry out the rites of Umrah.

Succession Of Makah:

Later in 630 CE, the holy prophet SAW was ordered to conquer Makah, the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW took around 10000 followers with him and moved towards Makah. The leaders of Makah were so frightened by the power of Muslims that they could not even think to block the Muslims, so they surrendered. This victory of Muslims was astonishing and known as the Fath-e-Makah.

Umrah AS Mini Hajj:

After the First Pilgrimage and conquest of Makah, Muslims across the world, come to Makah to perform Umrah which is also known as the Mini pilgrimage. During their visit to the house of Allah SWT, they seek forgiveness and ask Allah Almighty for countless blessings. May Allah SWT give us all this great opportunity to perform Umrah and follow the great Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.
