Whatever the case, you can find many mind-blowing sites with old civilizations and artifacts. There are large numbers, so I can't cover them all in one post. But you know what, I m planning to unlock details of the top 8 archaeological sites in Pakistan for the ancient explorers. Lets dig the past together!
Mehrgarh
If you want to discover Pakistan's oldest civilization and archaeological sites, you better head to Mehrgarh. A French archaeological team found this site. It was excavated continuously between 1974-86. The evidence from this location suggests that the civilization in Mehargarh was dated back to 7000BCE and was almost 3500years before the Indus Civilization.
Mohenjo Daro
If you asked someone about an ancient site in Pakistan, everyone would take the name Mohenjo Daro. It is known to be the oldest and longest settlement in Indus Valley, built around 2500 BC. According to scholars, climate change was the primary reason behind the collapse of the ...

Kot Diji
Another famous ancient site in Pakistan is named Kot Diji. It has been attested that this sites occupation is 3300BCE. It has two parts remaining. One is on the high ground as the Citadel area, while the second one is the outer area. This site was the forerunner of the Indus Civilization. It is located almost 25km from the south of Kahairpur city in Sindh, Pakistan. A citadel surrounds a stone rubble wall and many residences in this ancient structure. It was the first time excavated in the 1950s. It is believed that the Kot Diji site has its root in the early Harappan period, which link back to 3500 BCE. On this site, you will find a layer of burned debris detaching early and mature period structures. A look at these structures suggests that it was damaged by fire. The districts artifact and other remaining artifacts have been excavated from this site and displayed in the museum. Near Kot Diji site, you can also get a chance to explore an extensive hilltop fortress constructed during the reign of Sohrab Khan, A Talpur ruler in the 19th century.
Harappa
Most people don't know that Mohenjo Daro isn't the only ancient site of the Indus Civilization. Another site known as Harrapa is also rooted back in the Indus Civilization time. It is located in the Sahiwal city of Punjab Province. It is believed that the Harrapans were more civilized than others. The residents of Harrapa made some genuine efforts in reading and writing. They were the ones with discipline, planning, and organization. According to expert archaeologists, a close look at the remain of Harrapan made it clear that they had a great living style because the whole infrastructure was commendable.
Takht-i-Bahi
Takht-e-Bahi is another ancient site in Pakistan where you can get a chance to look into the Buddhist Monastic complex. It is located almost 16km from the Mardan on a 152-meter hj hill. This monastery consisted of four groups:

● A court of stupas
● A tantric monastic complex
Monuments of Makli Thatta
Thatta is an archeological city in Pakistan that you must visit to look at Makli Thatta closely. This city has 14th-century ruins. It has a unique architecture created with premium quality bricks and stones. According to experts, the cities construction quality is quite remarkable.
Shalamar Garden
