To promote the use of electric vehicles, the government of the National Capital Territory launched the Switch Delhi campaign to inform and encourage the citizens of Delhi to make a shift from polluting conventional vehicles to zero-emission electric vehicles. This campaign aims to make Delhi the EV capital of India, a collective step to decrease the pollution levels.

Delhi’s EV policy is considered one of the most progressive policies in the world as it aims to become one of the top cities globally in terms of EV adoption. The vision of the government is that 25% of all vehicles in Delhi should be EVs by 2024.

In order to reduce the Toxic emissions from tailpipes of diesel and petrol cars, the Delhi government has urged big companies, market associations, food delivery aggregators, malls, and cinema halls to set up electric charging stations in the parking space. The current government is also urging the youth to buy EVs as their first vehicle.

A customer can avail a charging point by visiting Tata Power- DDL EV portal or by calling Tata Power-DDL Sampark Kendra @19124. After the submission of the request, the installation will be completed within seven working days. A customer has to spend Rs. 2500 for a two or three-wheeler electric vehicle charging point to be installed.

The air quality in Delhi has worsened and vehicular emissions are one of the major sources of pollution in the national capital. To curb the pollution levels, the government is taking progressive measures to restore the air quality. To support the future of urban transport, Tata Power-DDL is supporting the government's vision of promoting EV adoption and establishing Delhi as the EV capital of India.
