In addition to producing duplicates of each America the Beautiful Quarter, the United States Mint also creates and issues unique silver bullion coins. The bullion coins have a three-inch diameter and are made of .999 pure silver, and weigh five ounces. The bullion coins have fineness and weight engraved on the edges. These coins are being produced by the United States Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program.
The United States Mint's multi-year America the Beautiful Quarters Program honors 56 national parks and other national sites in every state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
The San Francisco mint produced these coins. There are a total of 7.2336 oz of silver bullion in a roll of forty (40) 90% Silver Proof ATB Quarters. Extreme care was taken not to touch or tamper with the 90% Proof Silver quarter while removing these coins from sealed US Mint silver proof sets. These coins were removed from the original slabs while wearing cotton gloves in order to preserve their quality. They were then put in a plastic tube holder.
