Ever since that swimsuit season commercial where the woman in the yellow bathing suit exclaims "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way!" We have been fascinated with the idea of non-invasive fat loss. The appeal is obvious. Who wouldn't want to get rid of unwanted body fat without having to go through the pain and expense of surgery?

Unfortunately, the reality is not quite as rosy as the commercials would have us believe. Non-invasive fat loss procedures are often less effective than surgery and can come with their own set of side effects.

So, what is non-invasive fat loss? And does it work? In this article, we'll take a look at the different types of non-invasive fat loss procedures, how they work, and whether or not they're worth the investment.

What is Non-invasive Fat Loss?

Non-invasive fat loss is a catch-all term for any type of procedure that claims to reduce body fat without the need for surgery. This method of fat loss involves several procedures.

These procedures use various technologies to target and destroy fat cells, to reduce overall body fat. And they can be carried out ...
... in a doctor's office or clinic with little to no downtime.

Methods of Non-invasive Fat Loss

Here are some of the different methods that can be used for non-invasive fat loss. The most common are:

#1. Cryolipolysis:

This type of non-invasive fat loss procedure uses extreme cold to destroy fat cells. The most popular brand name for this procedure is CoolSculpting. Cryolipolysis is most often used to treat areas of stubborn fat, such as the stomach, thighs, and arms.

During the procedure, a special device is placed on the skin. This device then cools the area to a temperature that destroys the fat cells without damaging the skin. The destroyed fat cells are then eliminated from the body naturally.

#2. Laser-assisted lipolysis:

Laser-assisted lipolysis is most often used on small areas of the body, such as the chin or under the arms. So, it's not an option for those looking to lose a significant amount of weight.

During the procedure, a small laser fiber is inserted just below the skin. The destroyed fat cells are then eliminated from the body naturally.

#3. Zerona:

In this procedure, low-level laser energy will be used to target and destroy fat cells. During the procedure, the patient lies on a bed and the laser is applied to the target area for a set amount of time to contour the body. And it's most often used on the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen.

#4. Radiofrequency:

Radiofrequency is a type of energy that is used to heat tissue and promote the growth of new collagen. The procedure is most often used on the face, neck, and stomach.

During the procedure, a device is placed on the skin and radiofrequency energy is passed through the device to the target area. The heat from the radiofrequency energy destroys the fat cells without touching the body.

Does Non-invasive Fat Loss Work?

The short answer is, yes, non-invasive fat loss procedures can work. But, there are things you need to keep in mind.

Non-invasive fat loss procedures are not a miracle cure. They will not get rid of all your unwanted body fat. But, they can help to contour your body and reduce the appearance of stubborn fat pockets.

These procedures can have side effects including:

● Pain

● Swelling

● Bruising

● Redness

● Numbness

Conclusion

Non-invasive fat loss procedures can be a safe and effective way to contour your body and reduce the appearance of stubborn fat pockets. But, they are not a miracle cure and there can be some side effects. So, be sure to talk to your doctor about the potential risks and side effects before you undergo any type of procedure.
