Holidays are supposed to be about relaxation. Sitting in the sun, sipping an ice-cold drink, listening to the sound of the ocean around you... In reality, the combination of sorting out accommodation, travel insurance, flights and what you''re actually going to do on your holiday can take all of the fun out of a break.

If you''re travelling from one of London''s main airports , Gatwick, Luton, Heathrow , this problem is even greater. Unless you are an expert in navigating the twists and turns of London''s one-way system, and willing to pay an extortionate amount to park your car at the airport, getting to any of these can be a nightmare.

One option is to take the train. Possibly the biggest benefit of this is that you tend to avoid the possibility of being held up in traffic , simply book your ticket, book a seat, and sit back and enjoy the journey. If you book in advance, it''s also often possible to get a great deal on this method of transport.

However, with the train''s benefits come some limitations. Everyone has faced the awkwardness of trying to carry a heavy rucksack on and off and train without hitting ...
... people along the way. Now imagine try to do that with three heavy suitcases instead. Some trains will also take you on a very circuitous route to the airport, so unless you fancy going to London via Birmingham, make sure you check routes carefully.

Another popular choice is to hire a taxi to take you to and from the airport. Taxis offer you the option of being picked up from your door and dropped off at the airport with a minimum of fuss in between times. The convenience can also be had on the way back; just imagine the luxury of getting off the plane at the end of a wonderful holiday and knowing you just have to get in a car and drive home.

Finally, an increasingly popular choice is to take advantage of the service run by easyBus (a business owned by the same company as easyJet and easyCruise). This service promises low-cost and convenient airport transfers from within London to Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow. This is by far the cheapest option out of those listed above: singles cost two pounds and returns four.

Of course, not everyone chooses to fly with a company like EasyJet. Luckily, this is not a problem, despite it being owned by the same company as EasyJet, EasyBus is available to all customers, regardless of flight-company. One possible limitation comes from the fact this service sells out quickly, meaning its well-worth booking tickets in advance.

The variety of transport options available means that, whatever your needs, you''ll be able to find a suitable, stress-free method of transport when travelling to one of the London airports. So that''s one worry sorted, just got everything else to sort now.... Giovanni Issler is an expert in aviation. They recommend easyBus for transport to Gatwick airport.
