Barcode scanners are literally life saving devices for the new world that we live in today. They are extremely helpful for many businesses in several aspects as they help in billing, keeping track of assets and many other daily activities. Barcodes have a set of different letters and numbers that are encoded using bars of different lengths and widths. They can also have different lengths of spaces of black and white colours, with a product number which is then detected by the device and scanned on the computer screen. The numbers and barcode are then tallied with the data that represents the particular product (on which the barcode is stuck or applied), and that helps in the billing process or tracking an inventory.

Earlier the barcode scanners used to come with wires, but these days wireless barcode scanners in Mumbai have become very popular and you can find them in markets and stores. The latest technology has also introduced mobile barcode scanners in Mumbai that makes the job of a person and secures ...
... the pocket of the business. And as we talk about technology, we can also say that there have been various innovations in terms of barcode scanners based on the technology and different unique features that each of them provides. There are such 4 different types of wireless barcode scanners in Mumbai, so let us talk about them in detail -

Laser Scanners - Laser scanners are the most basic kind of scanners and they use a laser beam as the light source. The scanners have either a rotating prism or a reciprocating mirror kind of a laser beam that scans by moving to and fro across the barcode. A photodiode is used to measure the intensity of light that is reflected from the barcode.

CCD Scanners - CCD scanners, also popularly known as LED scanners, use a range of hundreds of little light sensors that are lined up in a row on their head. Each sensor is extremely tiny and immediately measures the intensity of light presented in front of it. These little hundreds of sensors are lined up in a row that has a voltage pattern and is similar to the pattern of the barcode of a reader. The voltages across each sensor in the row are sequentially measured allowing a CCD Reader to measure emitted ambient light from the barcode.

Pen-type Readers - Pen-type readers have a source of light and a photodiode that are placed right next to each other at the tip of a pen-like device. The person holding the pen-type reader has to manoeuvre the tip of the reader across the barcode at a uniform speed. When the tip of the reader reads each bar and space in the code, the photodiode measures the intensity of the light that is reflected back from the light source. Then the photodiode generates a waveform that measures the width of the bars and spaces in the barcode. The dark bars absorb the light, and the white spaces reflect it. So, the voltage waveform generated by the photodiode is a representation of the bar and space design of the barcode.

Camera-based Readers - The camera-based readers are 2-dimensional imaging scanners that use a camera and different image-processing techniques to scan the barcode.

You can buy all these different types of mobile barcode scanners in Mumbai at different prices and stores. You can read up on them and decide which barcode scanner is suitable for your needs and which one is perfect for your business, and per that you can make a valuable purchase that will act as an asset for a long time in your business.
