Do you prefer sandwiches over pizzas and burgers? Sandwiches are an excellent meal option. Whether you eat them for breakfast or evening snack, they promise a palatable taste and a full stomach. If you ask any cooking expert for tips to prepare the most delicious sandwich, we are sure that buying the right bread is the priority. The bread sets the base of a good sandwich.
You can say if the bread is fresh with the first bite you take. If your bread becomes soggy, you may not enjoy your sandwich much. Consider these bakery breads to opt for while preparing your sandwich base:
French baguette
They are ideal for preparing subway sandwiches. They are white and chewy, complementing the sauces and other ingredients well. If you do not wish to use it in the long-form, you can always slice them into smaller pieces and use them as open-face sandwiches.  Slice some fresh tomatoes, onions, and cucumber, and place them on the bread slices.
Do not forget to garnish cheese on the top. You can either choose to have the open-face sandwich as ...
... it is or grilled.
Wheat bread loaf
Have you ever eaten a Bombay sandwich? If not, try ordering a wheat bread loaf online. Bombay sandwiches are the best of all. They are high in nutrition and stomach filling. One big sandwich is enough to suffice the hunger pangs of two to three people. If you are trying out the comfort food tonight, have it with the mint chutney. It is the perfect blend of spice and flavour.
Sourdough Loaf
Another classic to opt for your sandwiches is a sourdough loaf. It is crisp outside while soft on taking a bite. The bread itself offers a unique flavour that adds to the taste of the sandwich. You can always use them for sandwiches. Ensure to have a thick layer of mayonnaise on the bread slice before placing veggies.
Multigrain loaf
Want to grab a sandwich but are concerned about its high sugar content? You should opt for multigrain loafs. These are made partly or milled from whole or almost whole wheat grains and hence, are healthier than other breads. But be sure about the whole grain label printed on the bread pack. Several companies are not living up to the whole grain claims to keep up with the rising demand for multigrain loafs. Check the ingredients list before buying any bread.
Another thing to note when buying artisanal breads is its expiry date. Do not buy the bread if it is nearing the expiration date. Check the bread for signs of bacterial growth before using it. You do not want an upset stomach owing to spoilt bread.
