Ginger tea is known for its abundant health benefits, like promoting good gut health, improving metabolism, lowering blood pressure, soothing headaches, and reducing inflammation in the body. Turmeric tea also has a plethora of health benefits that boost immune function, decrease arthritis symptoms, manage inflammation, and help with weight loss. So what happens when the potent properties of ginger and turmeric are combined in a uniquely blended tea? You get the ultimate earthy soothing herbal drink that assists with everything from warding off the common cold to preventing and fighting cancer.

Turmeric has been used in herbal medicine remedies by ancient civilisations because of its anti-inflammatory effects and antioxidant properties, which are produced by the curcumin compound in turmeric root. However, because curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body its effects are best enjoyed when combined with other ingredients that promote absorption.

Turmeric has powerful natural anti-inflammatory properties that reduce inflammation and infection in the body. While ginger’s medicinal properties come from its possession ...
... of the helpful phenolic compound, gingerol, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

Chronic inflammation plays a central role in the development of serious illnesses and diseases like cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. It can also aggravate autoimmune conditions, like those associated with Rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel syndrome. This is why regular consumption of inflammatory reducing foods and drinks like turmeric & ginger tea can stave off several forms of illness and treat unpleasant and distressing symptoms. Several studies have shown that ingesting as little as three grams of ginger extract daily can reduce inflammation and decrease the levels of nitric oxide in the body, while taking 1-3 grams of ginger every day for 6-12 weeks can decrease the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) which is an inflammatory marker. Turmeric extract consumption was also studied and it revealed a significant reduction in several inflammatory markers that positioned it as an effective anti-inflammatory solution that worked just as well as medicine like ibuprofen and aspirin.

Both turmeric and ginger have amazing pain-relieving properties that make them effective for treating pain like migraines or menstrual cramps. Migraines are typically the result of a drop in serotonin that causes blood vessels in the brain to constrict. Likewise, menstrual cramps are caused by the uterus muscle contracting to rid itself of the lining. Drinking warm ginger and turmeric tea blends will ease chronic pain by helping the blood vessels in the brain dilate to promote proper blood flow and allow oxygenated blood into the brain. The same is true for a cramping uterus—the anti-inflammatory ingredients in ginger and turmeric tea will calm the agitated muscles and reduce pain and swelling in the womb, this will mean that the intensity and duration of menstrual and pre-menstrual symptoms are drastically reduced, if not altogether eliminated when accompanied by a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Ginger and turmeric teas achieve the best result when consumed daily. But there are studies that show that, because of their ability to enhance immune function, starting an intensive regime of drinking ginger and turmeric tea at the first sign of an illness can reduce cold and flu symptoms and increase recovery speed. Not to mention that ginger and turmeric extracts and teas have been shown to assist people who suffer from seasonal allergies and other types of allergic rhinitis.

Ginger has also been traditionally used as an effective remedy for nausea and morning sickness in pregnant women. Its soothing aroma not only settles the overactive olfactory response that makes certain smells offensive when pregnant, and it is also a more natural product that is safe for the delicate foetus. And of course, after the baby is born ginger and turmeric tea is also a great way to aid weight loss because of its metabolism-boosting properties.
