Professionals in the game design industry often say that going to work is nothing like work. And while that may be true, a career as a game designer will keep you on your toes just to keep up with the ever-changing industry.

1. Learn the basics of video game design
Video game design is gaining popularity due to the increasing popularity of consoles like the PlayStation and Xbox 360, as well as desktop and web-based games that can be accessed via the Internet.
A creative mind and education are required to become a videogame designer. You must also identify which industry aspect best suits your career goals, whether you are working for a small start up, a media company or a software company.
2. Develop creative skills and learn essential concepts
Formal education is crucial
Many prestigious colleges and universities have recently added video-game-related degrees to their programs. Game designers used to be able to study computer science or film school to become game designers. Some of the most skilled game designers in the industry started their careers without any training. However, this path ...
... is almost impossible to follow today. Formal education is often necessary in order to get a dream job. It is all about your choice.
The theory and the technique
A student should choose a learning environment that is compatible with their career goals in video game design. A future video game designer might want to learn Java programming and the Android operating systems. Objective-C is required to develop games for Apple's iOS operating systems.
Video game designers learn computer science, animation theory, programming, intermediate and advanced math/algebra before they can design games. Even programming languages and coding tasks will be performed by them. Designers create storylines and characters that keep players engaged and challenging. Good designers are also creative and innovative, as they think outside of the box.
To be successful as a video game designer, you must have basic drawing skills and communication skills. Designers are familiar with all the design platforms, and can often use animation and 2D/3D graphics. They have the ability to communicate with others and collaborate in teams. You should also be a passionate fan of video games and the industry.
3. Learn programming languages
It is important to find the right learning environment in order to become a game designer. The path to employment in video games may require some self-directed study and training on the job. No matter where you are working in the industry, programming is an important part of any game designer's toolkit. Video game designers must have working knowledge in all programming languages, from creative development to programming positions.
Learning a programming language is similar to learning a foreign language. The programming language will not stay in your mind unless you use it regularly and repeat it often. On-the-job training is a great way to keep it fresh.
A beginning game designer might choose to work as a programmer in a company that makes video games after completing formal training. Although it may take several years to reach a managerial or creative position within a company, "paying the bills" in an entry-level job is common in many industries.
A new employee who is employed in an entry-level job will be able to receive valuable training on the job, regardless of whether or not their school program offers a current curriculum. It is a rapid process for the industry to adopt new programming languages and standards. There is always more you can learn as a programmer of any computer program.
Being a successful game designer requires a deep understanding of the industry and a willingness to learn new skills. The most talented video game designers work at the forefront of innovation, creating new characters and stories to enhance their game worlds.
4. Create a strong portfolio
A professional portfolio is essential for most artistic jobs, and especially for those in creative fields like game designers. This can make the difference between getting a job, getting internships, and building your reputation. These projects can add value to a designer’s portfolio:
Mini Games for SmartphonesScripts and stories to be used in computer games
Animations that introduce new game worlds
Illustrations of characters and environments
You can make simple web-based games to demonstrate your programming skills
If you are looking for jobs in bangalore or other your prefer location as a video game developer. A certificate or a degree in video game design or another related field may help a student get an interview with potential employers. A student's resume will be more impressive if they have evidence of past work experience, independent projects, internships, and/or previous work experience. The student can also learn new programming languages by self-studying outside of school. Additionally, they will be able to create valuable projects outside of class.
