During this summer season, your schedule must be fully occupied by numerous outdoor activities like attending pool parties at friends' house or at the water park, going out for a picnic, or travelling to other places. This can be the perfect time to bring along your compact digital camera so that you can capture unforgettable moments that you can keep those images or shared it among your friends or family.

Therefore, you can take this opportunity to brush up your photography skills this summer by following these tips as follows:

Tip #1: Using the Rule of Third

The Rule of Third is the basics in learning photo composition - a method to take enhancing pictures by position your camera view at the right place. Basically, you can switch your LCD display into a screen with few grid lines (or few boxes) and you can place the subjects within those grid lines by positioning your camera at the right spot. You can experiment this Rule of Third in both landscape and portrait photo shooting.

Tip #2: Playing around with the perspective photography

After practicing the ...
... Rule of Third, you can experiment your photo shoot with different angles on the subjects. The impact on the subject can be increased if you meticulously positioning your camera until you get a sharp image of the subject which is smaller than surrounding objects. For instance, you can capture images at diagonal angle that would give you a presentable image of the subject.

Tip #3: Have a good sense of lighting

Illumination is one the most important component of photography. Basically, you don't take pictures of the subject when the sunlight is facing in front of you. Therefore, it is better that the sun is behind you when you're taking pictures of the subject that is facing in front of you. If you're taking pictures indoors or in dim conditions, it's much suitable that you use artificial lighting - i.e. spot lights to add enough illumination in your photo-taking sessions. If you don't have it - you can use the flash to capture clearer image of the subject.

Tip #4: Always double-check your work

There's an ideal way of avoiding "bad quality" images - always view the image from the LCD mini-screen as soon as you've pressed the shutter. Thus, this method allows you to improve the accuracy in your photo-taking process rather than realize mistakes at the end of the photo-taking session.
