Learn the Rules of Poker

Poker is very easy to learn, especially if you focus on just one variant of the game. Over the years, poker has been divided into Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, and several other types of games that all have their own rules. However, the point is always the same you have to collect a better poker hand than your opponents. Since Texas Hold'em dominates the poker universe, this is the variant you should start with.

Here are the rules:

All Texas Hold'em players are dealt 2 private cards that are active throughout the game round. You can not change cards along the way.
The dealer will also lay out a total of 5 community cards on the table, and players can count all of these into their combination.
The player with the best combination of cards at the end of the game round will run away with all the bets.

Texas Hold'em consists of four betting rounds, where players can either raise the bet, stand over or discard their cards. The rounds are as follows:

Before the game starts, two players must place bets on the table if they wish to participate. This is called a Big blind and a Small blind, the latter being half as big as the former.
Once the private cards have been dealt, the remaining players can choose whether to join the round or discard their cards. To participate, you must make a bet equivalent to Big blind.
The dealer then deals with three community cards that everyone can see. These cards, together with the private cards of each player, create so-called poker hands, ie combinations of cards that beat the opponents' hands.
All players can choose whether they want to bet/raise the stakes, stand over or discard their cards. If one player raises, all the others must make a similar bet to be included. If you discard the cards, you are out of the round. It is only possible to stand over if no one bets/rises.
When the players have bet and are ready to continue, the dealer puts one extra card on the table. This card is called the "Turn", and here players can place new bets, stand over or fold the cards again.
When everyone is ready, the dealer will lay out the fifth and final card of the round. This card is called "River", and allows players to make their very last bets before the round is over.
After all, bets have been placed and the players are ready to finish the round, the cards are shown and a winner is determined on the basis of his / her hand strength.

It may seem complicated at first, but it hardly takes more than a couple of rounds before you are in full swing and waiting for the next opponent. Use your opportunities, play Jackpotpoker today and see if you do not run away with a million kroner in winnings!
