Bajaj Discover 150cc Dtsi Review

Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi is an improvised variant of Bajaj Discover. In the year 2009 Bajaj gave make over to its Discover 100cc and launched as 135cc and as if that is not enough in a year’s time there is another Discover in the 150cc segment too; Bajaj itself has answers to why it is producing different bikes in the same segment. So there is big brother of Discover now, and the bike gives advantage of price as compared to its adversaries as well as its own predecessors (100cc and 135cc segments). The Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi is a BSIII emission norms compliant thus living up to the Bajaj’s tagline of ‘Distinctly Ahead.’
Looks:
The new Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi sports basic styling that actually appeals to the regular bike commuters, if not the style-conscious young bikers, and its standard features include electric start in addition to kick start, 130mm telescopic suspension at the front and Nitrox-assisted rear suspension, broad rear tyre, disc brakes in the front, LED tail lamps, a gearbox mated to 5-speed transmission system, alloy wheels with ...
... matte finish, battery charge indication, battery that is maintenance free and a switch to indicate ride control.
However, the new Discover looks similar to the recent Bajaj Discover 100 DTS-i. If you spot any differences it will be few, including the 150 emblem on the cowl (tail), same graphics with different color schemes and the engine cylinder that is slightly bigger. D
As regards the console, you will not see those digital readouts that will be seen on the Bajaj Discover 135cc. The red and white white dials on the consoles are good on eye. But with all being said, the looks or styling of the new Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi will not overwhelm a general bike buyer, but the target prospects might like the bits and pieces of the bike like the LED taillights and ally wheels that are offered as standard.
Engine of the Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi:
The Bajaj Discover 150cc runs on a 4-stroke engine that displaces 144.8cc. The patented DTS-i engine generates maximum power of 12.8 Bhp at 7500 rpm and a max torque of 12.7 Nm at 5500 rpm.
The best thing about the Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi bike is that it gives good mileage, in fact the best in the segment of about 60-65 kmpl. The bike has a good pick up and it touches 60 kmph speed from 0 kmph in about 5.36 seconds.
Color and pricing of the Bajaj Discover DTSi:
The color options that are available for the Bajaj Discover 150cc DTSi include just black but with variations of red and blue graphics.
As regards the price, if there is one thing that is so impressive in the bike then it is the price. People hitherto opting for a 100cc or a 125cc bike will jump with joy and love to lay their hands on this machine for the price and it is a VFM bike as the powerful commuting machine comes with a price tag of Rs 46,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). With its features, fuel efficiency and the price the bike will live to the tagline of ‘More Excitement Per Litre.’
