Excavations are carried out in various situations. They are used to remove hard ground and soil to create a trench, hole or cavity with a specific purpose.

Excavations can be carried out for a number of reasons:

Road Construction - Roads can be widened or created in new areas where there is no existing road structure. Excavations are required to create an open space for the road to be laid down and paved.

Landscaping - Excavations in Sydney can be used to create ponds or lakes on a property. They may also be used to create other features in a landscaped area such as rock gardens or waterfalls.

You might also have to dig up your lawn to install a sprinkler system or an irrigation line. When you dig up your lawn, you need to replace the soil that's removed with new soil so that it doesn't get washed away by rainwater.

Construction Work - Excavation work is required when building new structures such ...
... as houses, sheds and garages. The builder will need to dig out holes for foundations and basements before constructing the structure on top of them. You can also require excavation for construction projects like building a pool or installing drainage systems.

If you are planning to undertake excavation work on your property, here are some things you should know:

Excavation Permits
If your property is in a high-risk zone (like an area near an airport or hospital) or if there are underground utilities near your site, you will need to get an excavation permit from the relevant authority before you start digging. An excavator’s licence may also be required depending on the size of the project.

Safety at the Site
Ensure that all safety measures are in place at the site before starting any work. You should ensure that proper lighting is provided for workers at all times; it is best if this is done by installing temporary lights on the site itself. It is also important to keep walkways clear of debris and other obstructions so that workers don’t trip and fall while going through them. Excavation workers in Sydney should wear hard hats and other protective gear at all times while performing their duties at the site; they should also wear gloves while handling equipment such as shovels or picks because they can easily cut their hands or fingers with these tools if they aren’t careful while working on the project.
