We Indians love momos. It is the most famous street food in India. Wherever you go, you will always see the momo stall on the street. Although it is very popular in north India, food lovers across India just love to eat this. It is also referred to as the "five-minute snack" because you can consume this food within five minutes or less.
Although no one knows exactly where this food first originated, it is believed that this spicy and mouth-watering food first originated in Tibet. In ancient times, the local residents of Tibet eat a popular food called "mog mog" which looked exactly like momos but was bigger in size. Momos can also be compared with dumplings because they both have many similarities in terms of structure and appearance. It is also said that momos were brought to India by Newar merchants of Kathmandu during their business trade.
In ancient times, people used to prepare momos with meat, but now in the present time, with the advancement of food technology, they are available in many different flavours and varieties like veg momos, chicken momos, momos with pepperoni on them, tandoori momos, chicken salami momos, etc.
Mainly, there are two types of momos available in the Indian market. The first is veg momos and the second is non-veg momos. Veg momos are available in India because there is a vast majority of the population does not eat non-veg. There are many different varieties and flavours of momos that come under the category of vegetarian momos, like pepperoni momos, paneer momos, tandoori momos, Hakka momos, cabbage momos, cheese momos, fried momos, etc. These are the varieties of momos that are available for vegetarian people. There are many non-veg varieties of momos available in India, like chicken momos, chicken salami momos, chicken kothey momos, chicken steam momos, fish momos, meat momos, steak momos, etc. The varieties are endless.
It is believed that if you want to taste the real momos, then you should reach out to the street vendors who make the best spicy, mouth-watering momos. You will get a variety of items to eat at the roadside stall. And when momos first arrived in India as fast food, they took place in a roadside stalls. If you are a sensitive person and care more about hygiene than most, then you should eat momos from the restaurant. They also serve the same taste, but with proper care and hygiene.
As the technology evolved, it changed our lives and our way of living. It also changed the food industry. Nowadays, you can get your favourite food online without stepping out of your home.
