Switch Delhi Campaign Launched By Delhi Government, Tata Power-ddl Provides Subsidy

Recognizing the urgency to combat pollution, Switch Delhi campaign was launched by government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi in coordination with DISCOMs to encourage the citizens of Delhi to switch from conventional vehicle to electric vehicles. The campaign was launched to increase the sale of EVs especially for two-wheelers and four-wheelers waiving of extensive subsidiaries, besides waiving off registration charges and road tax. For a two or three-wheeler electric vehicle, a customer will have to pay only Rs. 2,500 for a charging point to be installed after the subsidy. The government has also appealed to giant ventures, delivery chains, malls, market associations, and cinemas halls to promote electric vehicles and set up charging stations in their respective premises.


Although the campaign was planned for eight weeks from February to April 2022, it got further extended owing to increase the sale and for customers to avail the benefit of EV charger subsidy scheme in Delhi ...

The main objective of this campaign was to create awareness about the benefits of EVs and how it will contribute making Delhi clean and pollution free as India is the fourth largest Green House Gas (GHG) emitter globally. A single window facility for the installation of private EVs is made available online and through a phone call in which only one charging point will be given for each customer. In lieu of the scheme, Tata Power DDL has already selected 12 vendors for installation of slow and moderate charges.
