Opticom 360 helps department and city leaders monitor a range of vehicles used to provide community services – from fire utility vehicles and school buses to snowplows, tow trucks and public transit vehicles. It helps with end-to-end fleet management by performing functions such as increased driver and fleet safety; optimize maintenance and compliance processes, increase fuel efficiencies, ensure proper vehicle usage, and reduce administration time by eliminating paper processes. It can also help reduce travel time for non-emergency vehicles by enabling the ability to request a longer green or a shorter (opposing) red light, while minimizing disruption to traffic. It can request a green light for up to 25 percent faster response and reduces intersection crashes up to 70 percent for emergency vehicles. Ultimately, it aims to bring together a smart city version of traffic signal priority control and end-to-end fleet management functionalities, all under a single, connected cloud platform.
